“둘 다 같은 성경을 읽고 같은 하나님께 기도하며 서로에게 도움을 청합니다. 어떤 사람이 감히 다른 사람의 땀으로 빵을 짜는 데 공의로운 하나님의 도움을 구하는 것이 이상하게 보일지 모르지만, 우리가 판단하지 않는다고 판단하지 말자. 두 사람의 기도는 모두 응답받을 수 없었고 어느 쪽의 기도도 온전히 응답받지 못했습니다.

“Both read the same Bible, and pray to the same God; and each invokes His aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God's assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men's faces; but let us judge not that we be not judged. The prayers of both could not be answered; that of neither has been answered fully.”
